About Southern Masts & Rigging
Southern Masts & Rigging has been established in Brighton Marina since 1971. We are the largest supplier of masts, spars and rigging in the South East of England. With our Boat Sales, Sail Loft, Rigging and Chandlery departments all situated under one roof in the Brighton Marina we can cater for all your yachting needs.
Chandlery
Our Chandlery is the biggest in the south east of England outside of the Solent and can cater for all your yachting, safety, rigging, cleaning, maintenance, and apparel needs. We are also more than willing to try and source products that are not in stock.
Sail Loft
Our on site Sail Loft department has over 30 years experience with our highly respected sail maker and we are also a Hyde Sails agent and distributor. Our services include new sails, full valet, UV strip replacement, sail covers, safety lines, enclosures, dodgers and lazy jacks, just to name a few.
Rigging
As sole agents for Selden Masts in the South East region, our staff are factory trained and certified by Selden to provide regional support. This allows us to offer a comprehensive range of rigging products, spares and accessories, including Carbon Masts, Alloy Masts, Headsail Reefing Systems, In-mast Mainsail Reefing Systems, Batten Car Systems , Single Line Reefing Booms, Gas Rod Kickers, Carbon and Alloy Spinnaker Poles and much, much more!
Our onsite and mobile Rigging department can offer an array of services from a complete re-rig to rope splicing. We also have a swage machines to swage from 2.5 to 20mm wire and are able to make up Rod Rigging as well.
Southern Masts & Rigging are also the commissioned rigging company and supplier to Neilson Active Holidays. Our knowledge, expertise and superior craftsmanship is called upon not only nationwide but internationally.
Boat Sales
SMR would like to announce the opening of a new part to their operations in Brighton Marina. Mike Stevens and Freddie De vere, both well known faces in the marina industry, have teamed up to form a new boat sales outlet in Brighton. Mike from SMR and Freddie, the director of Bates Wharf Southern, have had a close working relationship for the past 15 years and now Freddie has come over to Brighton to head up the running of the boatsales team. In conjunction with Bates Wharf this new operation will bring leading boat brands like Beneteau, Maxum, Sessa Marine, Chris Craft, Bayliner and Trophy to Brighton.
Also within the network we have offices in Chertsey, Eastbourne, Chichester and Poole , so whether new or second hand you can be assured that under the SMR wing we will offer a one stop shop for all your boating requirements.
